Beta Race report
Webb describes the event, “After getting the silver medal in the X Games, I knew I had to prove that my result wasn’t a fluke. I continued my riding and training during the long break in the series and came into Ontario with newfound confidence on my Beta 350RR after signing with American Beta for another two years. Qualifying went very well for me and I had the first gate pick for the main event. I didn’t get the best jump on the start, but used my good starting position to put myself into second early during the first lap. I slowly reeled in Taddy and was on his rear wheel for a multiple laps just following his lines and trying to possibly pressure him into a mistake. My game plan worked midway through the race when Taddy bobbled right before the finish and I made a solid pass to overtake the lead. I held him off for a few laps before making a small mistake exiting the wood pile. This allowed Taddy to pass me back a few laps before the finish, and I was unable to counteract. Taddy has been a dominant force ever since he started racing Endurocross and it was a huge step in the right direction for myself and the Stillwell Performance Factory Beta team to battle him to the finish. I look forward to the next round in Denver and to push again for that top step on the podium. Thanks to all my sponsors for their support.”
Beta mounted Max Gerston rode hard all night however bad luck got in his way as his bike got caught in a huge gap in the rock pile while leading his semi. The Arizona racer is looking forward to putting his Beta in the main in Denver.
